Current mood:
excited
I talked to Marcus about 2:30 and he was about 30 miles from the Kansas/Colorado border, so I'm thinking he'll be home in the next couple of hours here. Yippeeeee!!!! Dork Boy got a speeding ticket in Kansas, though. I even told him to watch his speed as he left last week. *sigh* He has to have the rental car back at the DIA rental facility by 8 p.m. tonight, so I get to drive to town again. I'm so thrilled about that. I'm going to try and con a dinner out of him or something, though.
I haven't written about this because I know he's been reading my blog while he was gone, and I really wanted to surprise him. I've been cleaning out my car all week. He's always making fun of how dirty it is. Since I've spent most of my adult life as a pizza driver and keeping the interior of my vehicle clean was next to impossible, I've really let the inside of the old Subaru go. I took out the seats, took apart the center console, took apart part of the dash. I've had several pop explosions in there and there was brown, sticky stuff everywhere. I've been trying to steam clean out 4 years worth of ground in dirt and soda out of the carpets. I'm still not done yet, but it looks a heck of a lot better than it did at the beginning of the week. I've also got 4 screws left over that I have no idea where they came from. Why does that always happen? Do they reproduce in the bowl I threw them in? Hmmm. I should be done before school on starts up again on Monday. I even bought stuff to wash and wax it on Sunday. Of course, highway driving and living on the plains will have the outside filthy again in no time, but hopefully I can get on some sort of regular cleaning schedule for her.
Skippy is such a major dork dog. I was outside putting the passenger seat back in and I look up to see Skippy running down the street in front of our house. He pushed the screen out of the bedroom window and jumped. I started chasing him and he jumps into the car and gets hair all over my newly cleaned seats. I was so mad! I grabbed him by his scruff and pulled him out of the car and chased him into the yard. Argh!!!!
Dang, Marcus just got home. He must've been a speed demon through Colorado. Gotta go!

Yay! Marcus is coming home tomorrow night. I can't wait. I've missed him so much. I just wish I didn't have to work tomorrow. *sigh*
It actually rained a little yesterday and it was so cool. I slept really well. I wish it would cool off like that more often.

Gretchen had a link on her site today for a pretty cool
Battleship game. I played it for a good hour when I should've been doing other stuff. It's fun. It's got sound effects and everything. Try it out if you've got some time to waste.

This week's paycheck quote was:
"The two hardest things to handle in life are failure and success."

So true, so true.

1. Fast-food or regular (sit-down) restaurant?
I much prefer regular restaurants. If I'm going out to eat, serve me.
2. If or when you go to fast-food places...drive-through or walk in?
Unless I know a place has really awesome drive-through service (very rare), I walk in to make sure they get the order right. Even then it's a miracle if you get exactly what you ordered the first time.
3. Any restaurant food...eat in or take out?
Again, eat in. Even when I lived in town, the only take out/delivery food was pizza and occasionally some Woody's Wings.
4. You are at a restaurant and are too full to finish your meal. Do you leave it, or ask to have it wrapped up to go?
I take it with me. I paid for it. The only exception is french fries. They always taste nasty as leftovers.
5. Where does most of your food come from...restaurants or the grocery store?
Grocery store.
6. Do you shop for food at a supermarket or a convenience store?
Supermarket. Convenience stores are for snacks.
7. You have 13 items in your cart. Do you try to go through the *12 Items of Less* express line or grit your teeth and get into the regular line?
I get in a regular line. Rules are rules. BTW people, 50 cans of cat food or 100 jars of baby food does not count as one item.
8. If you shop at a store that has them, do you use the regular or self-scan checkouts?
Regular. I'm paying inflated prices to pay union wages to these people, they can do the work.
9. Paper or plastic - Part One...what kind of bags do you take?
Depends. If I need puppy poop bags, I get plastic. If I need to bag up newspapers, I get paper. Marcus always gets plastic.
10. Paper or plastic - Part Two...which payment method do you use when buying food?
Both. Checks if the money is in my account, plastic if there isn't.
